The cargo securement receives updated version of the criteria. The updates are added as a type of footnotes applying to the ELDs.
To emphasize, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck is an annual program of inspection type. It is a program that spreads across a period of 72 hours.
During that time, the inspectors are conducting an increased amount of commercial vehicle inspection.
In fact, every minute during a 72 hour period, there are 17 vehicles inspected.
Amazing, isn’t it?
More importantly, Roadcheck is providing the trucking industry with an education about the importance of the safety of vehicle operation.
Moreover, the CVSA is sponsoring the International Roadcheck program. There are other associations taking part in the sponsorship and they are the following:
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
- Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA)
- Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA)
- Transport Canada (TC)
- Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT)
