You can’t predict when and where your truck will break down. Sadly, that is true as a matter of fact. You are not Nostradamus! You cannot predict that, but what you can do is try and set aside a saving fund ready for when things do go wrong.

Furthermore, you should work on ways of cutting truck driving expenses in each and every way. I am not saying that you should not eat, drink and live normal while you are over the road, but you should definitely try to save as much as possible.

Creating a budget and working with it is crucial if you want to run a successful trucking business or you want to save while on the road. There are much better ways of spending your hard earned dollars than wasting them without even being aware of.

No matter if you ask an experienced truck driver or a rookie that just started a career in trucking, they will all agree and tell you the same thing. What is that? It’s that regular truck maintenance that is the key to saving and cutting truck driving expenses!

You should have regular maintenance on your truck. That is at least four times a year or with other words, you should have quarterly check ups on your trucks well being.

Your truck might look all good and great at first glance on the outside but might need a total rebuild inside. You might have some skills as a truck driver, but don’t let that fool you. Give the responsibility of maintaining and repair to the guys that know what they are doing.
